Happy Dogs of New England works with southern rescues to help rescue dogs get safely placed into loving homes in the New England area. We only have a few loving fosters here in New England, each caring for only one or two dogs at a time. Many, many other dogs await transport daily. Our transports run weekly, arriving in Londonderry, NH on Saturday afternoons. Transports also run through Connecticut and Maine and pickups can be arranged for adopters living in those state. Dixie Dog Express provides our pooches with a nice ride. Dixie Dog Express is licensed with the US Department of Agriculture as an animal transport company. We are three volunteers who work in coordination with experienced and devoted Rescuers from TN, AR, MO, and MS to help facilitate successful adoptions for dogs needing great homes in New England and Nova Scotia. We are not a physical shelter, however, we do have available kennel space and as-needed foster homes when the situation calls for it. Canine Commitment operates out of Gorham, ME (on a laptop in the kitchen with three young kids and two mutts underfoot!) and Canine Commitment-NH is in Bedford, NH with Ross, her two sweet young children and four rescued dogs (one, an old timer she rescued while on Vacation in MO!). Fur and Feather Animal Assistance is located in a very rural county in western New Mexico. This county, the largest in the state, has no animal control, so unwanted pets are often abandoned to fend for themselves in the wild. In the fall of 2003 we took it upon ourselves to do something to help these homeless pets. Animals are housed at our own homes, kennels, and foster homes. Early in the spring of 2006 we became incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

We concentrate on rescuing lost and abandoned animals and helping out when people die and leave their pets behind. We also neuter  ever y do g and cat that passes through our hands. As of January 2010, we have been able to spay, neuter, and place over 1,100 pets.

We are happy to e-mail detailed photos of available pets and do consults on the phone. We also are willing to deliver animals, even out of state if the situation is right. We look forward to placing these animals in loving homes an d will dowhat it takes to help make that happen.  Our adoption fees vary with each animal. We ask for the cost of neutering theanimal if it was an expense for us, or we will ask for a donation of whatever amount people can afford and is suited to the situation.

Rose Hope Animal Refuge is a small non-profit, no kill animal rescue in Waterbury, CT.  We are strictly a volunteer organization.

We have an adoption center located in the Waterbury Petsmart where we keep some of our cats and kittens that are ready to be adopted. For a complete list of our pets, please check our site at    rosehope.petfinder.com      There are always more pets in foster care that can be seen on our websites.

Our dogs can be seen on Saturdays, 1-4pm, at our weekly adoption event, also in Petsmart. Remember, the dogs are in foster care and we do not have all our adoptable dogs at each event.  If we make an appointment with you to meet a dog, we must require a confirmation (within 2 hours) prior to the appointment (phone call or email) or we can not guarantee a Rose Hope representative will be there.

We are trying to help the homeless cats & dogs in the Waterbury area. We are a small group of people who really care about animals.  We try to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. If you are feeding cats, you must find a way to also spay and neuter them (check out the H.O.P.E. clinic for low cost spay/neuter options) as well, otherwise you are becoming part of the problem. Dogs 2nd Chance is a 501[c]3 non-profit dog foster group that was founded in the fall of 2007.

All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and become a temporary active member of our family.

Dogs 2nd Chance dogs are transported north for adoption. Dogs are sent to from Tennessee to Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Maine. Dog adopters from other states are welcome as long as they can meet their new dogs at the transport points.

Pet Adoption Days are a refreshing cooperative effort among area rescue organizations to place loving, homeless animals. A staggering 8-10 million animals are euthanized each year simply because there are not enough homes. Most dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, all are current on vaccines, temperament tested, and are eager to be someone's new best friend.
